White Eagles OT2 - the Finalists of the Maple Leafs Almtrausch Tournament!
The OT2 again took part in the traditional OT tournament and surprized many by going all the way
to the finals, where they lost to a younger Holland team (Capital Utd - OT1 champs). This came
after a dramatic semi-final, which had to be decided in penalty shots after a 3:3 tie in
regulation. Igor P replaced injured Kazik B in goal and thanks to his formidable goal-tending
the Poland team (White Eagles) eliminated the favored Germany squad (MLA-OT3). Mirek Zajac has
been named the MVP of th entire tournament.
Week 17 (make-up games)
OT2 Fri Sep 14 OSU vs White Eagles 0 : 4
Bramki: Ziolkowski Jerzy, Zajac Miroslaw, Klimkowski Ludwik, Weglinski Wieslaw [p]
OT4 Fri Sep 14 White Eagles vs Lynwood Chargers 1 : 1
OT5 Fri Sep 14 Carleton Raiders vs White Eagles 0 : 1
The last game of the season meant a lot to the Raiders, and we lacked the will to put
up more of a fight. Although after all - not a bad result considering Carleton is
one of the League's best teams, ending only 3 pts behind the top team.
MC2 Wed Sep 12 Ottawa Roots All Stars vs White Eagles 2 : 1
Again, we managed to field only 10 players in a game we had a fighting chance.
After one of our defensive mistakes we lost the first goal. We picked up the
speed, but played chaotically. But we managed to tie after Tomasz W took a free
kick and laid a perfect ball for Dominik D. We stepped up and paid the price.
One of our defenders failed to come back and we lost the second goal. Unfortunately,
injuries and overall fatigue made themselves felt. But then we played short for
most of the season.

Week 16
OT2 Sun Sep 09 White Eagles vs Hellenic 4 : 1
Goals for WE :Mirek Zajac - 3, Romek Buczkowski -1.
OT2 Fri Sep 07 Kanata Lightning vs White Eagles 1 : 3
Goals for WE : Zajac Miroslaw - 1, Pajdlhauser Igor - 1, Wolski Leszek -1
OT4 Fri Sep 07 White Eagles vs Gloucester Hornets
OT5 Fri Sep 07 Aylmer Voyageurs vs White Eagles 7 : 2
Goals for WE : Wlodek Ciepala - 1 [p], Ludwik Klimkowski - 1
We came to Aylmer to win at least a point and managed to put up a decent fight in the first half.
However, a couple of defensive mistakes, a mis-kick or two and ... we gave up. Aylmer Voyageurs
were a better team, but not that good.
MC2 Wed Sep 05 Ottawa Royals vs White Eagles 5 : 0
We played the game with 9 players and at half-time we were only down 2. The opponents are this
season's champs. Good game for our players, in spite of the loss.
MR4 Tue Sep 04 Kemptville Sonics vs White Eagles 13 : 2
Week 15
OT2 Fri Aug 31 Goulbourn Gryphons vs White Eagles 5 : 1
WE Goal: Buczkowski Roman - 1
OT4 Fri Aug 31 Falcons vs White Eagles 3 : 3
OT5 Fri Aug 31 White Eagles vs Aylmer Cousins 3 : 1
WE Goals: Wlodek Ciepala - 3 (hat-trick!)
We were simply the better team on this day, although Aylmer Cousins had their chances to tie and
even take lead in the game. However, we scored first in the 10th minute when Ludwik Klimkowski
took the ball down the left wing and fired a beautiful shot from a sharp angle. The goalie barely
managed to stop the shot, but could not hold onto the ball, which bounced under the feet of
oncoming Wlodek, who buried it in the net with his right foot (previously used only to support
the left). The second goal was also a result of cooperation bewtween these two, when Ludwik sets
up Wlodek with a beautiful through ball for a breakaway. And Wlodek beats the Cousins' goalie one
on one. In the second half, we crumpled and Aylmer came back with a Vengeance. Finally, the
Cousins scored their only goal after a corner kick and a commotion in front of our goal. This has
unsettled our team and we came back into life, creating scoring opportunities. One of those
attacks was led Waldek Frukacz. Valdo came down the left wing with a no trump, crossed a high
spade into the box, the ball bounced off the hand of a defender and George the Ref pointed to the
spot. Wlodek fired the ball into the upper left top corner - a beautiful shot that even Andrzej
Wilk, who was only watching this game, would not have been ashamed of.
Our second win of the season, thanks to the unsung heroes - our defense, led by incredible Wacek
Stabryla, with the dancing Rysiek Lange right in front of him. It is in this position that the
ex-player of Rakow Czestochowa seems to be best fitted for as identified by Chris Kosewski.
Playing Staszek Sznip on the wing was another positive change made by the acting coach Kosa. Stan
created a lot of havoc in his new position. The protective wall was completed by the ever hard
working Wiesiek Karpinski and Marek Hrubesz, who has put an end to a number of dangerous Aylmer
counter attacks with his powerful clearances. It was a good game. [wc]
MC2 Wed Aug 29 Fitzroy MC2 vs White Eagles 2 : DF0
This is the second time this month we were unable to field a team! Shame!
MR4 Tue Aug 28 Lynwood Rangers vs White Eagles 2 : 0
Week 14
OT2 Sun Aug 26 White Eagles vs Nepean Hotspurs FOG 2 : 0
Goals for WE: Romek Buczkowski(1) , Mirek Zajac(1)
Again..Wojtek 'Goral' Sepowicz was in goal and stopped a penalty shot! Ufffff!!
OT5 Sun Aug 26 Falcons Strollers vs White Eagles 1 : 4
Our first win of the season. Initially, it seemed it would be just another game, where we would
pressure the opponent, who would capitalize on our mistakes. The Falcons started the game with
nine players and yet they were the ones to score first. As their reinforcements arrived, we managed
to tie the game after a classical team play sequence: Irek Kotecki passes he bal to Valodya,
who passes it to Adam Kubik, who then with one touch pass sets up Wlodek for a break away. Wlodek
sends the ball into the far corner and ties the game. we managed to get ahead before the halftime
after an individual effort by Adam Kubik, who intercepted a Falcons pass and took the ball and
score his first of the season. After the break we still dominate the play, but it takes a bizarre
shot by Krzyc Kosa Kosewski to bet the Falcon goalie. And then Adam gets his second of the game,
again after an individual effort, intercepting a Falcons' taking it to the net. We had many other
chances, but it was our perfect defensive game that made the difference, especially that of
the superbly disposed Wacek, who managed to break up all Falcon's incurrsions and who was organizing
our defense, which made no major mistakes this Sunday afternoon. Our midfield was firmly under our
control, thanks to the acting coach Kosa, helped by the returning Andrzej Wilk. A good win!

OT2 Fri Aug 24 Gloucester OT2 Hornets vs White Eagles 4 : 6
Goals for WE: Ziolkowski Jerzy - 1, own goal - 1, Wolski Leszek - 1, Zajac Miroslaw - 2, Sepowicz
Wojciech - 1. Noteworthy episode: Wojtek 'Goral' Sepowicz was in goal up to 60th minute and
stopped a penalty shot!
OT4 Fri Aug 24 White Eagles vs Aylmer Rapides OT4 0 : 1
OT5 Fri Aug 24 White Eagles vs Almonte Lynx 2 : 2
Again, we had to win this game, but managed only a tie. So we earned our first point of the
season - too little too late. The game was a replay of so many previous games. We dominate, but
commit unprovoked errors and allow the opponents to score. At least this time we managed to score
a couple of nice goals.
First goal: Wlodek gets the ball from Adam on the 18, sees Valodya open on his left and passes
the ball to him... Valodya could have taken a shot from his angle, but instead he lobs the ball
over to Ludwik, who buries it in the net. Second goal: Valdo sends Wlodek down the left
wing, who takes it down the field towards the goal and centers the ball under the feet of the
oncoming Valodya, who shoots at the goal. Kazek manages to deviate the shot and the ball ends in
the net. Unfortunately, these were the two of the very few team plays.[wc]
MC2 Wed Aug 22 Nepean Hotspurs vs White Eagles 4 : 1
It was a pretty balanced game for the first 15 min, both teams fighting over every ball.
Until our goalie made a mistake by coming out of the goal too far and a Hotspur player
kicked the ball above his head into the net. The game became very chaotic and brutal
for the rest of the first half and 10 minutes before the break, we lost the 2nd goal.
We came out in the 2nd half determined to get back into the game. Nathan takes a powerful
shot, which hits and bounces off the crossbar, Pawel Koziara picks up the ball and buries
the rebound. 2-1. The game became very chaotic and after one of our mistakes, the Hotspurs
scored the 3rd goal. And right before the end of the 2nd half, two players got into a fight,
the referee had to send off some players and so weakened, we gave up another goal.
Final score 4-1. [tw]

Week 13
OT4 Fri Aug 17 Ottawa Cosmos vs White Eagles 4 : 4
OT5 Fri Aug 17 Ottawa Int'ls vs White Eagles 3 : 2
We were looking forward to playing our first game on the artificial turf on the
grounds of Univ of Ottawa, hoping that it will finally help us win our first points
this season. Initially, the smooth and slippery surface just proved to be too fast
for us. Before we got used to it, the shorthanded Internationals were up one. We
had our chances, but just could not get it in until Ludwik Klimkowski managed to
voley one after a nice run down the right wing. We had control of the game, but we
just kept hitting the wall of defense and kept loosing the ball, which the Internationals
would pick up for swift counter attacks and before we knew it, we were down 1:3 after
two flimsy goals. We managed to score another goal in a melee in the opponents box and
so ended the first half. In the second half we were again the team dominating the game,
even if some players were visibly worn down and tired. We still had our chances,
especially Wlodek Ciepala, who had at multiple scoring opportunities, often one on
one with the goalie on beautiful set ups from Ludwik, Staszek Sznip and Rysiek Lange.
But he either waited too long with the shot, kicked the ball at the goalie or missed
altogether. As OT2 players, who came to encourage us, witnessed the Wrath of the
Gods of Soccer, who still are not happy with us, no matter how many good beers we
"sacrifice" after the games. The team's relegation down to the 6th div is almost
certain now![wc]
MC2 Wed Aug 15 White Eagles vs Ottawa Royals MC2 0 : 7
MR4 Tue Aug 14 Internationals FC vs White Eagles 3 : 5
We have received two reports from this game
and since they differ slightly, we thought posting both is warranted...
Scorers: Jason Hill (2), Pawel Koziara (2), Peter Koziara (1) The MR4 team got their
second victory in a row with a 5-3 win overInternationals FC.The White Eagles jumped
off to a quick 2-0 lead with goals by Jason Hill and Pawel Koziara. Throughout the first
half majority of the play was in the Internationals' half, with the White Eagles putting
on decent offensive pressure. However, near the end of the half, after a defensive blunder,
Internationals capitalized and cut the Eagles lead to 1. Score at half was 2-1 for the
White Eagles. The second half started just as the first, White Eagles held majority of
the possession and scored 2 more goals to make it 4-1. Jason Hill and Piotrek Koziara
converted. The White Eagles were poised to cruise to an easy win,but the feisty
Internationals stepped up their game and scored 2 quickgoals, making the score 4-3.
It would have been 4-4 if it wasn't for Kazik who made several remarkable saves inside
the box: one was a wide openheader and the other was a running one-timer volley strike
from the Internationals' best player. This was a wake up call to the White Eagels.
Pawel Koziara gave the team some insurance by finishing a beautiful passing play to make
the score 5-3.
**Special thanks to the fans who come out and support us and cheer us on game after game,
despite rainy weather. Delicious cup cakes were enjoyed by all courtesy of Diana -
thank you for the treats!![reported by Lukas Lorentz, MR4]
/.../
Another victory for MR4! With the season almost at an end, the team was in high
spirits to generate another win and keep the streak alive after coming out of a
four game loosing slump. The fair field conditions, cool weather and support from
the team’s loyal fans created a pleasurable playing atmosphere.
From kickoff, the White Eagles took control of the match with some smart plays and
a few opportunities to score. Central midfielder, Jay Hill, was the first to capitalize
on his chances and scored with a hard strike from a sharp angle. A beautiful individual
effort down the wing from Piotrek Koziara resulted in the second goal for the White Eagles.
The third goal came from Pawel Koziara who received a breakaway through ball from Jay
Hill and made no mistake to get the ball by the goalie and into the net. The match was
placed highly in the favor of the White Eagles but the Internationals FC made a quick,
3 goal comeback. Thankfully, Jay Hill got the go ahead goal for the Orly from another
powerful and well placed strike from a distance. Pawel Koziara managed to seal the deal
with the fifth goal that came to him from a scramble in front of the net. Thanks to the
brilliant work of goalie, Kazik, who made some game saving saves when the came was in
the balance, the Biale Orly produce another victory! [as reported by Paul Koziara].
Week 12
OT2 Fri Aug 10 Chelsea OT2 vs White Eagles 4 : 2
WE goals: Toraj Jozef - 2
OT4 Fri Aug 10 Almonte Wildcats vs White Eagles 0 : 0
OT5 Fri Aug 10 White Eagles vs Kemptville 1 : 4
Another game we though we could win, but didn't. We dominated the first half, but it was
Kemptville that scored first, with a flimsy shot. We tied after a penalty kick and although
remained the better side, could not score. After the break, we seemed to have ran out of
wind and Kemptville scored their 2nd (nice, powerful hit from 30 yards) and ...we gave up!
Minutes later, we let in another weak goal, and at the end of the game yet another.
Kemptville scored their 4th from the spot, a penalty kick Irek Kotecki managed to stop,
but could not hold onto the ball and Kemptville kicked in the rebound.
MR4 Tue Aug 07 White Eagles vs Thistle United 3 : 0
Scores: Jay Hill, Eric Staenz, Jakub Reimbisz
MR4 WINS!!! Both teams arrived at Hillcrest High only to find extremely poor field
conditions - the grass was 8 inches high in some parts, while landscapers
had removed an "airport runway" size area of grass from the field in other
parts.
The White Eagles dominated the game from the onset and were unlucky to lead
only by one goal at the break by Jay Hill, who came back from a horrific eye
injury from last game. (The cut took three large stiches to close up -
someone owes somebody $.)
After a couple of tactical changes and a renewed focus, the White Eagles
started the second half. With the desire not to squander the same
opportunities for goal they had in the first half, Jakub Reimbisz made a
nice run on the right wing and beatifully curled the ball over the goalie
from a small angle. A few minutes later, Eric Staenz (aka Turbo) chased down
Thistle's goalie and blocked his clearing attempt. Then, he controlled the
ball and volleyed it over the goalie in an almost identical goal to Jakub's.
For the rest of the half, the White Eagles hit the crossbar and posts
countless times. Thistle United showed poor sportsmanship at the end of the
game by reckless challenges, which earned them a couple of yellow cards. The
White Eagles' defence and keeper tirelessly thwarted any Thistle attacks and
deservedly held onto the clean sheet.[reported by Vergil Grantcharov (coach/manager)]
Week 11
OT2 Fri Aug 03 White Eagles vs Ottawa Royals 6 : 2
WE goals : Buczkowski Roman - 1, Ziolkowski Jerzy - 1, Zajac Miroslaw - 3, Taraj Jozef - 1
OT4 Fri Aug 03 White Eagles vs Fitzroy Wanderers 2 : 1
OT5 Fri Aug 03 Goulbourn Jets vs White Eagles 2 : 0
Another good game and another disappointing loss. We play well, we have our chances,
but we cannot score. Frustrated, we open up and let weak goals in. If we are going to win,
our forwards have to start scoring! Unfortunately, on this day neither Rysiek nor Wlodek
could do it in spite of many chances. The good news is that the 'new recruits' - Adam,
Dzidek and Marek are doing pretty well. And there are still 7 games left in the season.

MC2 Wed Aug 01 White Eagles vs Hornets Celtic II 0 : 4
MR4 Tue Jul 31 Ottawa Royals vs White Eagles 5 : 0
OT4 Sun Jul 29 White Eagles vs Nepean Hotspurs Surge 4 : 3
The game turned out to be a win despite being behind by one goal throughout
most of the game. We had moments of very good play where we were dictating
the game as well as moments of poor performance. Few mistakes made us loosing
the goals, however, concentration, positive attitude and hard work resulted in
ending the game in our favor. Three goals scored by Sola Egunjobi, one by Victor
Hoerdt. Very good play by Richard Hoerdt and Andrew Jackson who took the roles
of goalkeeper.[reported by JP]

Week 10
OT2 Fri Jul 27 Rockers vs White Eagles 6 : 2
WE goals: Wolski - 1, Buczkowski - 1
OT4 Fri Jul 27 InterMilan OT4 vs White Eagles 7 : 2
We lost 7:2, however, that was mostly due to our goalkeeper George McMorrow being
suspended for three games. The goals scored by Inter Milan were all but one the
outcome of coincidence. Should our team be in the original squad we would very
likely had won this game. Good play by Sola Egunjobi, who scored the two goals.
Overall very good play by the entire team.[reported by JP]
OT5 Fri Jul 27 White Eagles vs Arnprior Blues 0 : 4
Another loss after what was probably one of our best games. The Blues has four shots
on our goal and scored 4 times. We had more than a dozen and just could not get it in.
We hit the post, the crossbar and even missed a penalty shot. The God of Soccer are
not on our side. Next week? (reported by WC)
MC2 Wed Jul 25 Hornets Celtic II vs White Eagles 5 : 2
The Celtics put a lot of pressure right from the beginning of he game, but Claudio in goal
was on top of his game. Fifteen minutes before the half, Mirek Zajac was cut down in the
box and took the penalty with a beautiful technical shot from the spot. 1:0. Unfortunately,
about 5 min before the pause, one of our players was shown red and we were down to 10.
After the break, The Hornets came down hard and before long, they were up 3. Weakened,
we played a defensive game, with odd counter attacks. One of those ended with goal,
when Mirek set up Pawel Koziara with a nice pass and he buried the ball on the far post.
We opened up and the Hornets another two goals. (reported by TM)
MR4 Tue Jul 24 White Eagles vs CUSC 0 : 3
Go Frook Go The bridge team led by Waldek Frukacz beat Mexico
in Montreal this weekend. Next stop - the 38th Bermuda Bowl, the World National Teams
Championships, Shanghai, China, Sep29 - Oct13 2007.
Week 9
All White Eagles OT have been rained out and cancelled, to be rescheduled.
However, OT5 came out in force on to the Craig Henry field, so Coach
Baranowski decided we will have a friendly practice game. Ludwik picked the White team,
Wlodek selected the Reds. The Whites were reinforced by the Falcons goalie (66 yrs young),
and a couple of OT2 players - Jerry Ziolkowski and Kazik Bejger. The Whites were joined
by Tomek Wroblewski from the MR4/MC2.
But the Whites proved to be no match for the Reds, even if the result 3:6 may suggest
otherwise. The teams exemplified all that is good and bad about most of our White Eagles
teams. Both teams were pretty balanced skillwise, but whereas the Reds played as a team,
adhering to a defined game strategy, the Whites were but a group of individuals incapable
and indeed, helpless in trying to match the tactically responsible Reds. Were it not for
all the missed chances of the Red's captain Wlodek, the score may have well been in double
digits, whereas the Whites scored only on (except for one) arbitrary referee decisions.
We welcome to the team Bogdan, Marek Hrubesz and Adam, who practiced with the team
and will be joining the squad, as will Dzidek, who is back in soccer after a 3 yr break.
It was a good practice, greatly benefitted the players and the coach. And the beer after the
game was as good as it always is! (reported by Wlodek Ciepala - wciepala@hotmail.com)

This was a game we were hoping to win and earn our first points, but it was not to be.
We did score the first goal, when Ludwik kicked in a ball bouncing in the box. Later,
we tied it at 2:2 (Wacek Stabryla scoops up a ball, lays it to Wlodek Ciepala,
who with outside left curving ball beats the Kanata goal). But this is all that we
could muster that evening.

Week 6 Reports
OT2 Fri Jun 29 Ott. Internationals vs White Eagles 3 : 1
White Eagles goal: Mirek Zajac
OT4 Fri Jun 29 Hull Dynamo OT4 vs White Eagles 0 : 1
This was an even game where both teams had chances to take the lead. With three substitutes
we had the confidence of not being outrun by the opponent. First half ended at 0:0. Close to
the end of the second half we scored after a shoot from Sola Egunjobi. At that time we played
with 10 players after Victor Hoerdt received red card for, what it seems like, verbal
challenge of referee decision. Despite that we created additional excellent situation,
however the shoot, again from Sola, was not capitalized in a goal. Overall, good and solid
play by our team.
OT5 Fri Jun 29 White Eagles vs Spitfires OT5 1 : 5
We started our 6th game of the season without a clear strategy and with an experimental
new scheme devised by coach Wiesiek Baranowski. Ten minutes into the game, we were down
0:2 to the fast Spitfires team. On both goals, our goalie stood little chance after the Spitfire
players were left open by the inexperienced defence. It started to rain
and this further dampened the spirits. It was 4:0 by half time, but in the 2nd half we
started mounting some counter-attacks, encouraged by Irek Kotecki, who performed miracles
in the net. But it was too little to late, and when they scored a lucky 5th - a
slippery ball slid from under Irek, it was over. We still tried to score a goal, and finally
after a beauty pass from Staszek Bielec into the box, where the ball was fumbled by players
of both teams until Shawn managed to push it over the line, with a little help from Rysiek Lange.
MC2 Wed Jun 27 Hellenic MC2 vs White Eagles 14 : 1
We played the entire game with 8 players only and kudos to all 8 who not only stood their
ground till the final whistle, but even scored a goal. John Murray is facing a formidable
task if the team is to remain in MC2. The successes of MR4 contrast the misfortunes of MC2,
suggesting the Club may have to reexamine the way it manages its flag team.
MR4 Tue Jun 26 White Eagles vs AC Fiorentina 2 : 1
It was a very balanced game. We lost the first goal to a beautiful shot from
about 20yards under the crossbar. We realized that the only way we could beat the skilled
Italians was to launch rapid counter attacks. After one of those attacks, Pawel
Koziara tied the game with a shot from a distance. And just before the final whistle, Dominik
Drobnik scored the golden goal. It came to be after a series of short passes between Pawel
and Jason down the right wing, with Jason setting up Dominik in the box, who span his body and
struck the ball with a beautiful volley to score the precious goal.
Week 5
OT2 Jun 22 White Eagles vs Aylmer referee no show.
OT4 Jun 22 White Eagles vs FC Saint Stefan 0 : 1
OT5 Jun 22 Ottawa Royals OT5 vs White Eagles 6 : 2
Ottawa Royals lead the league and after a while into the game, it became clear why.
We tried hard, but the other team seemed younger, more skillful and disciplined tactically.
We had a good game and yet lost 2:6.
MC2 Jun 20 White Eagles vs Fitzroy 3 : 8
We were winning 3-1 at the half and we were positive about getting A RESULT but not to be,
they stormed us and we lost a man to a red card and another to injury leaving 9 on the
field and they put 4 in the net in the last 15 mnts.
MR4 Jun 19 White Eagles vs Goulbourn 3 : 2
The game started with both teams testing each other and their respective
goalies. Goulbourn scored first when a long pass down the field was crossed
into the box and took the lead with a header. We tied in the 20min when our
center midfield Jason Hill set up Piotr Janczyk for a 25 yard shot. 1:1 Just
before the half after a scuffle in our box the ball ended in our net. But
before we went off Eric Staenz sets up Pawel Koziara, who faints a shot and
buries the ball in the net. After the break all teams played tough and as a
result of a foul play on Tomek Wroblewski, we were awarded a penalty kick. A
sure shot into the lower left corner set the result of the game - 3:2 for
the White Eagles
Week 4 Reports
OT2 Jun 15 Gatineau OT2 vs White Eagles 4 : 2
Goals: Jerzy Ziolkowski - 1, Mirek Zajac - 1
OT4 Jun 15 Goulbourn Greyhounds vs White Eagles 3 : 0
The game started well. There was a lot of pressure from the opponent, but we were able
to defend well and created few good situations. In the first half Darek had a good chance
to score after receiving pass from Victor, but unfortunately the shot was straight to
the goalkeeper. Close to the end of the first half we lost the first goal. Second half
started well balanced, but with time we started to give up possession of the ball, which
was mostly due to hot weather and our players loosing the steam to do the running
(despite having only one sub, same as our opponent, we seemed somehow more
tired than the other team). We lost another two goals, which were more like accidental goals
than our defense being outplayed. We got good chance to score at the very end after pass
from Victor to Janusz and then to Shoula, however, the ball went over the net. Overall
good play on our part although unlucky.
OT5 Jun 15 White Eagles vs Ottawa Eagles 2 : 3
As we expected, Ottawa Eagles proved to be a tough team to beat. They are pretty skillful,
but unfortunately what could have been a good game was a rather nasty spectacle of foul
plays and rough tackles. All because of an incompetent referee, who lost control early in
the game and allowed the game to deteriorate, endangering all on the field. Our goalie
Staszek Gadomski had to leave the field early in the first half after an unlucky intervention,
running into an aggressive opponent.
We took control of the game in the first minutes and had a couple of chances to go ahead.
Finally we scored after Ludwik Klimkowski ran into the box with a ball and rather than
taking a shot, unselfishly passed a high ball over to Wlodek Ciepala,
who took the pass on his chest, onto his thigh and then buried it with a half-volley. Couple
of minutes later, the ref points to the spot against us for Kris Kosewski alleged hand ball
and it was 1:1. That goal was followed by another two
goals and Ottawa Eagles managed to take th game away fom us. With about 15 minutes left in the
game Wacek Stabryla scores a beautiful goal after a pass from Sean, but it was too little
too late and try as we did, we could not tie the game. Next time!
MC2 Jun 13 White Eagles vs Ottawa Roots All Stars 1 : 5
The mens competitive div 2 team lost 5-1 to Ottawa Roots. Wojtek Sepowicz scored for the White
Eagles. We started with 9 men and held them to 3-1 until last 5 minutes. The game was more
balanced than what the result may suggest. We were missing some key players.
The team still needs reinforcements from OT2 and MR4; it is important they start their games
with a full bench. They may be relegated to play in MC3 division, but no one
seems to be overly concerned. Recruitment continues.
MR4 Jun 12 White Eagles vs Hull Lounge 426 5 : 0
On this hot day (32C) we had a score to settle from last year. We came out strong and in the
first twenty minutes took 15 shots on the Hull goal. So when Dominik Drobnik got a perfect
pass from Lukasza Lorantz on the sixteen and went past the goalie to score he first goal,
we knew we were in the game. Couple of minutes later, Jason Hill takes a hard shot from
17 yards into the lower far corner and it is 2-0. But the opponents where not about to
give up yet, played hard, not ready to roll over. Then, twenty minutes into the
2nd half, Kuba Kielb sets up Tomek Wroblewski, who is being pulled down by the beaten
goalie and the ref points to the penalty spot. Pawel Koziara takes the shot and it is 3-0.
The Hull team steps up again, but as they do so, they open up and the White Eagles capitalize
on their mistakes. After one of those, Kuba Kielb takes a free kick, which bounces off a
defender under the feet of the young Kuba Remisz, who scores his first goal and the
fourth for the team. With 8 minutes left in the game, the Koziara brothers mount a classic
attack, setting up Kuba Kielb who finishes the play scoring the th goal of the game.
The opponents lost it, starting arguing with the ref. After one of them sees red after
calling the ref names, the entire Hull team walks off he field. The ref calls it a game,
with 5 minutes to go. A great game, kudos to the entire team.

Week 3 Reports
OT2 Pause - game rescheduled
OT4 Fri Jun 08 White Eagles OT4 vs Nepean Hotspurs Surge - to be rescheduled
OT5 Fri Jun 08 Carleton Raiders vs White Eagles OT5 2 : 2
We have our first point! We anticipated the game with some angst after having learned that
the Raiders have beaten Kanata Stealth 7:1. But we started the game strong and have dominated
the center field. After one of the attacks, Staszek Bielec took a long shot which flew over
the Raiders goalie and landed in the net. Ten minutes later another beautiful pass
from the middle found Ludwik in an open space in the box, who with a clever move beat a
Raiders defender and sent the ball past their goalie into the net. 2:0. Things were looking
good, but when we made some necessary changes replacing tired players, our game somehow fell
apart. We started loosing the ball in the middle and and making unforgivale mistakes on
defence. This resulted in two stupid goales against us and were it not for the interventions
of Staszek Gadomski, our goalie, it could have been worse. After the break, we came out srong,
but the game had to be interrupted 10 minutes into he 2nd half because of the thunderstorm.
MC2 Jun 06 Ottawa Roots All Stars vs White Eagles MC2 - to be rescheduled
Referee Ratko M concludes that the field is unfit to be played on because of poor line markings.
It will be rescheduled for a different date.
MR4 Jun05 West Spitfires vs White Eagles 2 : 4
The game started in the rain. It was chaotic, with neither team gaining much ground until
a mistake by one of our defenders found one of the Spitfires in the penalty box. A couple
of quick moves around our players and it was 1:0 fo the Home team. Ten minutes after the
break, the Spitfires launch a successful, fast counterattack and Claudio, the White Eagles
goalkeep had no chance. It was 2:0 for the Spitfires. There was about 20 minutes left in
the game and we decided we had nothing to loose - we came down on the opponents with all
we had. First Dominik Lesniewski heads a corner kick ball hard towards the goal. It hits
the crossbar and comes out. But it spurs the teams to continue to pressure the opponents.
Couple minues later Piotr Janczyk lays the ball down the field to Dominik Drobnik, who does
not hesitate and buries it in the net. It is 2:1. Five minues later, again Piotr Janczyk,
takes a corner kick and connects with Jason Hill in the box. He ties the game 2:2.
But not for long, as Kuba Kielb sets up Pawel Koziara, who takes a hard shot and we
take the lead. There was about 5 minutes left in the game and the Spitfires came out
hard trying to tie the game. As they open up, Dominik recovers a misplayed ball and
catches the Spitfires goalkeeper out of his box with a high lob and we win 2:4.

We lost 3:0, although managed to hold on to 0-0 at the half.
The Hotspurs were younger and fitter but the less skillful team.
MR4 May 29 White Eagles MR4 vs Ottawa Raiders 1 : 2
Ottawa Raiders, a team relegated from Div 3, came out playing a hard and very physical game.
Our team was missing a few key players and we could not get our game together. But we
neverheless went in the lead early in the 2nd half, when Pawel Koziara set Kuba Kielb
with a beautiful pass and he buried the ball away with a big shot from over 20 yards.
Not for long. After a minorincident one of our players was sent off with a red card and
the subsequent free kick was turned into a goal after a powerful shot over the wall into
the upper left corner. After the loss, we could not get back into the game. The second goal
for the Raiders came after a corner kick was redirected to our own goal by Dominik Lesniewski.
There were 8 minutes left in the game and we came all out. As a result, after a faul in the box
on Radek Sikora, the ref called for a penalty shot. Unfortunately Kuba Kielb failed to capitalize
on the opportunity, by taking a shot right at the goalie, who stood his ground in the middle
of the goal. It was close, but Raiders were the better team and deserved to win.

MR4 May 22   Gloucester United vs White Eagles MR4 0 : 2
The first half was tough and pretty balanced, neither side managed to score.
Our side was kept in the game by incredible saves by our goalie Claudio Wensel.
After the break, we came out strong and kept the ball in the Gloucester half of the field.
Finally, Dominik Drobnik recovered a ball misplayed by a defender and scored from about
16 yards out our first goal of the season. We kept the pressure on and in the 76 min the
very well disposed on this day Dominik, stole the ball from another defender and scored
his second of the game, beating the goalie with a shot on the short side, into the upper corner.
